Why Refer to AARADONC

A specialist partner.
Not a replacement.

Our role is exclusively radiation oncology. We integrate seamlessly into your patient's care plan — keeping you informed, involved, and in the lead.

Dedicated Specialist

Board-certified radiation oncologist with over 20 years of clinical experience in veterinary radiation oncology. Every referral is personally reviewed by Dr. DiBernardi — not delegated.

Same-Day Response

We acknowledge every referral the same day and schedule a consultation within the week. For urgent cases, we move faster. Time matters — our process reflects that.

Full Written Reports

You receive a complete consultation report after the initial appointment, regular updates throughout treatment, and a comprehensive case summary when treatment concludes.

You Keep the Patient

Our scope is exclusively radiation oncology. Your patient returns to your practice for all primary care. The relationship you've built with your client stays exactly where it belongs.

Advanced Technology

Varian TrueBeam® linear accelerator — the same platform used in leading human cancer centers. IGRT, VMAT/RapidArc, high-resolution MLC, multiple energies. Shorter anesthesia time for every patient.

Direct Oncologist Access

You have direct access to Dr. DiBernardi throughout the case — not a receptionist, not a coordinator. Questions and case updates handled directly between colleagues.

How It Works

From referral to treatment.
Four simple steps.

A coordinated process designed to keep you informed at every step and ensure your patient receives care without delay.

Submit the Referral

Complete the form with your patient's basic info, diagnosis, and any available imaging or notes. A call or email works too — we adapt to how your practice prefers to communicate.

Same-Day Case Review

Dr. DiBernardi personally reviews every referral the same day. You receive an acknowledgment the same day and a consultation is scheduled within the week — often sooner for urgent cases.

Consultation & Treatment Plan

We meet with the pet owner and review all available records. A full written consultation report — including protocol recommendation and rationale — is sent directly to your practice.

Ongoing Communication

Regular written updates throughout treatment. Direct oncologist access by phone or email. A final case summary after treatment concludes — keeping you fully informed as the primary care veterinarian.

Treatment Protocols

Three protocols.
One right choice for your patient.

CFRT

Curative · Adjuvant intent

16–20Sessions
Mon–FriSchedule
3–4 weeksDuration

Standard fractionated radiation for curative or adjuvant intent. The most common protocol for post-surgical cases, oral tumors, nasal tumors, and brain tumors. Each session is outpatient — your pet goes home the same day.

Palliative

Quality of life · Symptom relief

3–5Sessions
WeeklySchedule
Comfort · ControlIntent

Lower-intensity radiation focused on pain relief, tumor control, and quality of life for advanced or inoperable disease. Fewer sessions, weekly schedule — meaningful improvement without an intensive treatment course.
